Plants to Balance the Crown Chakra

Chakra refers to the Sanskrit word meaning wheel. These wheels of energy are believed to spin at different spots along the spine. Although they are aligned with the spine, they spin throughout our core to both sides.

There are 7 main Chakras and many more according to some belief systems. Each Chakra has it’s own colour, like that of the rainbow. To understand more about how light = colour, read the post about Colour Therapy

The wheels of energy vary with each individual and factors such as physical conditions, energy levels, stress, and disease can affect them. They can become unbalanced or blocked resulting in many physical symptoms as well as emotional. Maintaining a balanced Chakra system is vital to our health and well being.

Sahasrara -The Crown Chakra is located at the crown of the head. The 7th Chakra is the top of the ladder and it allows us to connect with spirit and our higher selves. It goes beyond intellectual knowledge to a ‘knowing’ of our place in the universe and the order that exists in all things.

The Crown Chakra governs:

~Spirituality

~Higher Knowing

~Connection with the Universe/Divine Energy

~Living in the now

~Inspiration, gratitude

~Feeling of well being, at peace with oneself

Each Chakra is linked to several different areas of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. They govern over specific areas of our bodies, correspond with our senses, and rule over certain emotions. They are also associated with elements, spirit animals, planets, gem stones and crystals and astrological signs.

The Crown Chakra is associated with:

Symbol- Thousand Petal Lotus
Element-
No element
Planet- Sun
Animal Symbol- Eagle
Astrological Symbol(s)- Leo
Gem Stones- Diamond, clear quartz, amethyst,

Physical– Central nervous system, cerebral cortex
Psychological- Awareness and Understanding
Identity– Universal Identity
Sense- Enlightenment
Right- To know- I KNOW

Colour- Violet or Pure White

A happy, balanced Chakra allows us to experience and express our authentic selves. We are able to find inner peace, tap into our creativity and use our personal powers to achieve our highest aspirations.

Fasting and detoxifying are best for the Crown Chakra. Purification is the key here. Smudging with sage and juniper are beneficial as they remove negative energy from your aura and living space.
Essential oils are extremely good to use as well when meditating to balance your Crown Chakra.

The Crown Chakra is our connection with spirit and the universe. Meditation in a quiet calm area is required to get in touch with your higher self. Mentally let go of everything you possess… everything. Your possessions, the objects you love and all of your relationships.

Don’t judge yourself if you feel like you are not ‘getting it’. It’s hard to obtain total detachment and even if you do manage to get there, you may not be able to get there very often. The point is, any level of meditation you can achieve brings you closer to enlightenment and most certainly increases your awareness.

Crown Chakra Traits:

Balanced– Infinite wisdom, clair-abilities, gratitude, unity, self realization, intuitive knowing, connection with all things, inspired

Unbalanced- Lack of purpose, loss of meaning, narcism, joylessness, isolation, lack of trust/hope

Physical Ailments– Chronic exhaustion, problems with skeletal and skin, sensitivity to light and sound, paranoia, schizophrenia, troubled mind

One of the few flowers that only come in one colour, this pure white winter flowering bulb is often pushing its way up through snow. It symbolizes rebirth, hope and purity. Perfect for setting an intention to clear your mind and balance your Crown Chakra.

Daffodils

Try spending time with white daffodils when you are meditating to open your Crown Chakra. Their trumpets amplify their vibrational energy of awareness and inner reflection. Plant an all white variety in the fall so that you can enjoy these when they emerge next spring.

Known for their perfume, try growing white Hyacinths in a pot where you create your meditation garden so that you can enjoy them at eye level.

Breath in their heavenly scent while you focus on opening your Crown Chakra. They symbolize sincerity which makes them perfect for setting the intention to let go and connect with your true higher self.
