Country Christmas Tree

Country Christmas Tree

When planning the tree themes for Milner Village Garden Centre this year, it was important to me that we honor our store style, celebrate the heritage of Langley prairie, and acknowledge the local neighboring landmarks and long standing business’s.

In a previous post I featured my Downton Abbey tree. Yes, I know…that’s a British thing but it’s all about the vintage / shabby chic which is SO our store style. Not too mention Napiers Antiques is right across the road from us and we consign a lot of vintage pieces in the store.

Another neighbor of ours is Milner Downs Equestrian Centre which is a favorite among Langley’s horse lovers. A special Country Christmas Tree was definitely on list for this local landmark.

Saddle in Christmas tree

My girl Hannah helped me with some antiques for the Downton Abbey tree and was able to provide a cool saddle for this tree too. So let’s start there….it doesn’t matter how big an item is, if I can wire it into a tree I WILL!

Cowboy Boot Christmas Tree

Horses love apples right, so we should definitely put a few of them in the tree and these big cow bells look like they were made for a Country Christmas Tree.

The boss had some cowboy boots at the store…so these went into the tree too, I hope she doesn’t mind 😉

Burlap poinsettias

We had some rusty old horseshoes which made fantastic hanging ornaments and the red burlap poinsettia’s were the perfect touch to make it festive.

Horse Ornament

To top off the tree only a cowboy hat would do! The last finishing touch definitely had to be a barbwire garland, but I was sure to put this only around the top half of the tree so that it was safely out of the way of snagging customers and their coats!

Have Honky Tonk Christmas!
