This idea is floating around the internet right now…here’s my version of the Tomato Cage Christmas Trees.
Wrap the cages with mini lights and use wire to fix them to the frame. Leave long tails on your wire so that you can use them to attach the sinamay. Pull, puff and pinch it all the way around the frame.
Add some balls and that’s it! How simple and fun is this?
I plan to set a few of these up in my yard this year….I’ll update this post with a picture when I do.
**** Update****
I finally got my place done! Here are my pictures…oh and I went a little crazy and put Sinamay on my eaves with the lights too! Looks really so cool when it gets dark
Happy decorating!!

What a fun idea! You can’t even tell that it was a tomato cage. Totally inspired to turn mine into a tree…just gotta get the old tomato vine off it first! Thanks for sharing! Found you at Flamingo Toes.
Oooo I love these! They would look fantastic outside! I’ll be featuring this on my blog on Saturday!

Love these.. how fun!
Is there any concern of fire? Do the lights heat up against the fabric?
We use Sinamay extensively over at Potters Christmas store where I am the lead Designer….this fabric is completely fine with lights. But like with any fabric, do not use near an open flame.
These are so pretty Shelley. I love when the lights are on!
